Kayla has put up a version of Zigeunerleben (that is useful for the words) on the choir website:

http://fghschoir.freespaces.com/

The notes aren't the same as ours, I believe it's a boys choir? They have a nice high range...

Anyway, get the German sound from there and you can get the real notes from:

http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/show_score.pl?scoreid=49326

((Just move it up 2 half steps!!))

On a side note, if you weren't at choir today (23 March 2007), Laura told us about our spiffy choir shirts that we'll be ordering right after spring break. Bring about $10 on the Tuesday that we get back. This is an estimate of the price, so...ya. I believe that it would be good if Laura knew your shirt size as well.

If your curious about the design, it's a black shirt with white lettering (and music notes and such).

Zigeunerleben

I think the original plan was to have something dealing with Zigeunerleben on the choir website, but I'm assuming a conflict came up with Kayla's connection of being able to do that. In the meantime, though, I found Zigeunerleben on sibelius at:

http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/show_score.pl?scoreid=49326

The only problem is that it's a whole step lower than what we have. That is easily fixed by clicking the button with the two flats (they look like the letter b). It's right before the print thing (do not click the print button, the music is nine dollars to print out...). A box should come up that allows you to change the key the song is in. It should naturally start at it's default with going up a "Major 2nd (2 half-steps)" and that's what you want to do, just raise it that much. That should put it in the key we have. It even has the words :)

Choir kids;

Go here: http://musicaintima.org/listen/clear/

#19 Is pretty much the most pure, beautiful Shenandoan I've ever heard.
#20 Is Loch Lomond--which apparently Honor Choir is singing.

I AM STOKED!

....God...I love singing. :)

Well, here. The music section is up. However... The music files themselves are being annoying. I'll try to fix it as soon as I can, but my day today has consisted of writing essays for English and working on the website. To be frank, I don't really want to work on it any more today. I would greatly appreciate it if I could have a few guinea pigs wonderful people test the files out for me. Comment if they work, and unzip, for you, please!

Lovely, lovely. I have, after days of frustration and searching, created the main page of the choir website! My goal is to have the entire thing up and running smoothly within the next couple of weeks. you know, as soon as school starts and I can harass Mr. Berdahl about givin' me some stuff to put on there. So anyway, here you go! And, don't worry, it won't be dead between updates. I'm going to see about a forum on the website as well, although, that may be a little overboard...I digress. I will update periodically, with tips, and changes to the website. Please read what I wrote already, because it talks about the first day of school.

I figure there's nowhere better to post than here, except maybe myspace! (ooh, possible idea! Myspace group? I bet we could get more members there too!) but anyways, here is the information for the choir camp coming up next week!

When: Thursday, August 31st from 12:00PM - 4:30 PM, with a short concert starting at 4:00PM
Where: FGHS Choir room
What: Choir camp, of course! Preview of new music, basic plans for next year, and uniform checkout!

I really hope to see everybosy there! If you have any choir buddies who aren't on here (because you know we all travel in packs!) try to give them the information! Choir camp isn't nearly as effective when no one goes, so we're hoping for a big attendance! I can't wait to see you guys there!
